Hike the Etna Volcano to get to the summit craters of Mount Etna at about 3000 meters!
You will be hiking in full safety with a certified alpine and volcano guide, with whom you will marvel at the beauty and wonder of the highest active volcano in Europe, at 3.000 meters above the sea level.
Departing from Sapienza Refuge, in Nicolosi, the Cable Car will take you up to 2.500 meters and you will proceed with an amazing trekking.
The amount of Hiking involved is more or less 5 hours.
The tour can be cancelled in case of adverse weather conditions. The itinerary up to 3000 m can be slightly modified depending on the volcanic activities, for security reasons.
In full safety, you will marvel at the beauty of Europe’s highest active volcano, reaching an altitude of 3,000 meters above sea level. Departing from Rifugio Sapienza, in Nicolosi, the cable car will take you up to 2,500 m. From here, you will begin your hike toward the maximum altitude allowed by volcanic monitoring. The uphill trek lasts about 1.5 hours, passing several craters, including those formed during the 2001 eruption. Along the way, there will be extended breaks to rest and take photos. You will then reach the Barbagallo Craters, at around 3,000 meters, where you can enjoy a privileged view of the summit craters. After a long stop near the craters, you will descend toward the 2002 craters, walking across volcanic sand, before returning to 2,500 meters and taking the cable car back to Rifugio Sapienza.
