Built around 2580 BC, it originally stood 146 meters tall and was the tallest man-made structure on Earth for over 3,800 years. It was built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu and is made of millions of limestone blocks.
Although it is slightly smaller than the Great Pyramid, it appears taller because it was built on higher ground and still has some of its original smooth white casing stones at the top.
It stands about 65 meters tall and was originally covered with granite at the base. Although smaller, it is admired for its unique design and is surrounded by three smaller queen’s pyramids.

The Great Sphinx of Giza is a giant limestone statue with the body of a lion and the face of a pharaoh, believed to represent King Khafre. It is about 73 meters long and 20 meters high, making it the largest statue of the ancient world. The Sphinx was built to guard the pyramids and symbolize strength and wisdom.
