If you choose to share a snowmobile with another person, you will now change the driver and continue back to Camp Alta as a passenger, taking a bit of a different path. From time to time you’ll be able to speed up a little and feel the thrill of the ride, as well as stop and play in the snow in the middle of the forest. ViatorSnowmobile Tour in Kiruna
We will pick you up from your hotel in Kiruna and drive to the starting point of your snowmobile adventure on the frozen Torne River. From here, we’ll head out with a small group — just four snowmobiles and your guide — giving us the freedom to travel further and explore remote corners of Swedish Lapland that few visitors ever see. Snowmobiles can take us to places inaccessible by any other vehicle. You can choose to drive your own snowmobile or share one with another participant. We will stop at spectacular location to take photos, and enjoy warm drinks and traditional Swedish snacks. Swedish Lapland is home to unique Arctic wildlife such as reindeer, moose, foxes, Arctic hares, and owls. Along the way, our guides will keep an eye for animal tracks in the snow and point them out to you — perhaps the distinctive heart‑shaped print of a reindeer, or the wide hoof marks of a moose. Learning to read these signs makes you feel even more connected to the wilderness around you.

During the trip, you will enjoy the stunning views of Abisko Village, Lake Torneträsk, and Lapporten. We’ll visit the impressive Abisko Canyon and admire the Silver Waterfall, which transforms into a frozen spectacle during the winter months. Throughout the day, your guides will share stories and knowledge about this extraordinary region. Swedish Lapland is also home to an incredible variety of Arctic wildlife. In these pristine landscapes, it’s possible to spot reindeer moving gracefully through the snow, moose wandering along the forest edge, or even catch a glimpse of a fox, Arctic hare, or Arctic owl. You’ll also learn a few tips and tricks to help recognize tracks and other signs of wildlife during the walk. After the tour, we’ll drive back to Kiruna along Lake Torneträsk, Kaisepakte, and the scenic Arctic Road, a beautiful route that offers one last look at the winter landscape before returning to Kiruna.

Our guides use the weather & northern lights (aurora borealis) forecast to predict the best locations to have the highest probability to see northern lights. Northern lights is a natural phenomenon and changes constantly the same as the wild nature. Our guides do everything in their power to guide you to northern lights but sometimes it´s not possible due to weather conditions. If you are a photographer you are in good hands as we are too. Bring your own camera equipment or rent it from us. Tripod is needed to photograph Northern lights as you need a long shutter. Please notify us as soon as possible or at least 48 hours prior departure (availibilty is limited). We meet and make a short introduction of the tour and how it works.
