Hiking Arround Chefchaouen and Talassemtane Park with Berber Villages Visit

Day 1 : Chefchaouen- Berber villages of the Rif- Zawiya Habteen Around 9:00 in the morning start the hike to discover the Chefchaouen surroundings accompanied by our guide, passing through villages of the mountain, with gorgeous views over Chefchaouen. The hike lasts 5 hours along the rocky path of Tissouka Mountain, you will have a broad view of Chefchaouen city and the beginning of the Oued Laou valley with its typical agricultural landscapes. You will see the traditional dwellings of the Rif’s villages. Arrival to Zaouiya village and finally to Gite Talassemtane. Enjoy a local lunch at the a cozy clean and comfortable accommodation, free time. Dinner and overnight

Talassemtane National Natural Park extends over 75’000 hectares and includes several mountainous massifs where is located the unique fir forest of Morocco. The Park is also a haven of a variety of more than 35 species of mammals including the best known: the Barbary Macaque monkey, who frequents many caves in the mountains. The fauna is rich with more than 100 species, including some such as the Golden Eagle.

Day 2: Mountain Lakraa 2159m, National Reserve of Talassemtane After breakfast, start a moderately challenging hike to the meadow of highest summit of the region Mount Lakraa . You will navigate through forested hills, peaks and cliffs. You will cross unique geographical forms of the limestone Mountains. The Rif is a delight : Thousands of fir trees of a forest existing only in this part of Africa and which is part of RBIM (Intercontinental Mediterranean Biosphere Reserve). Have your picnic lunch and finally head back to Gite Talassemtane, after spending 6hrs wandering to marvelous land transfer to Chefchaouen
