Bucharest Crash Course - Old Town Bike Tour

This 19th century inn is one of the best preserved ones in Europe, currently a restaurant

This was the site of the royal court of Vlad Țepeș (you may have heard of him as Dracula, but you'll know better by the end of this tour). He ruled Țara Românească in the 15th century.

This 18th century nunery is a delightful gem of local architecture - the Brâncovenesc style.

A turn-of-the-century (20th, not this one) masterpiece of the ecclectic style, this building housed and still houses Romania's oldest bank - CEC bank.

The oldest promenade in Bucharest, where the proper ladies and gentlement of the early 20th century came out to see and be seen, this boulevard also features the only properly built bicycle lane in our city - it's a start!

A friendly French style garden, with a shallow lake, plenty of grass, trees, flowers and benches, this park will offer us a short breather and, maybe, a refreshment :)

The second largest building in the world, after the Pentagon, this yet-unfinished megalomaniac construction lies over what used to be an organic neighborhood, as testament to the ways in which power corrupts the minds of not only dictators, but entire societies.
