Zoo Atlanta is an AZA-accredited conservation and education organization home to over 200 animal species.

Visitors can see elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and lions in the African Savanna, explore the indoor Scaly Slimy Spectacular reptile experience, and see two of North America’s largest populations of gorillas and orangutans.

Recent updates include the 2024 Rollins Health Center tour, a 2025 lion complex, and the new Arthur M. Blank Panda Grove, where giant pandas Ping Ping and Fu Shuang debut on November 6, 2026.

This entirely redesigned complex includes many new features designed with giant panda wellbeing in mind, as well as new experiences for guests. Zoo Atlanta is now one of three zoos in the U.S. to house giant pandas and is the only zoological organization in the Southeast the species calls home.

Good to know

Kids under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times
Outside food is allowed, but you can't bring in alcohol, glass items, or fast food straws and lids
Pets are not allowed, except service animals. Service animals may not be permitted in some areas
Zoo Atlanta’s Service Animal Admittance Policy meets the requirements defined by law under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This Policy defines service animals as dogs or miniature horses who are trained to perform a specific task for an individual with a disability. Emotional support animals and other animals are not permitted on Zoo grounds
