The tour begins from Ambergris caye. At Xunantunich, walk through the ceremonial plazas, learn how the ancient city developed, and take in the wide Cayo District views around El Castillo. For cave tubing, follow your guide on the forest approach, receive a safety briefing, and float through the underground river while looking at the limestone formations overhead. On the zipline course, trained guides handle the safety setup as you move between platforms and see the forest canopy from above.
Allow about 11 hours for the full experience. This is a shared experience with a listed maximum of 31 travelers. guide service is included. Travelers should have a moderate level of physical fitness. The experience is not wheelchair accessible. It is not recommended for travelers with back problems and travelers with heart problems or other serious medical conditions.
Local souvenirs, hammocks, and blankets are available from the many vendors waiting alongside the river at the entrance to the hand-cranked ferry that has carried many thousands to and from the calm beauty of this Maya Temple.
No island hotel pickup. Travel independently to the San Pedro or Caye Caulker water taxi terminal, check in, and board on your own. Buy your ticket unless the option says Water Taxi Included. Meet your guide outside the Belize City terminal exit.
