Transfagarasan Highway and Fagaras Fortress Day Trip From Brasov

This tour combines sightseeing with history and culture. During the Transfagarasan day trip we drive close to the altitude of 2050 meters above sea level and experience spectacular views.

During the drive we stop at the Balea Waterfall. Here we take a look at the souvenir shops and taste some of the local snacks.

There are other stops scheduled at spectacular viewing points. The drive includes a pass through the tunnel and a descent on the Southern side until the Capra Waterfall (a smaller but highly spectacular waterfall). There we can taste numerous types of cheese and meats including deer and wild-boar salami.

We return through the tunnel and stop at Balea Lake. There you can have a proper lunch, and we can have a easy hike around the lake.

Other short stops for spectacular roadside landscapes are also included.

The Fagaras Fortress can be admired from the outside or we can have a longer stop and tour the inside too., before we head back to Brasov!
