Step into a real Roman kitchen and prepare traditional Italian dishes with your own hands, guided by Ilaria in a warm and welcoming home. Along the way, you’ll discover the small family tricks behind each recipe — the gestures, timing, and instincts that rarely make it into cookbooks.
This is not a cooking class in the traditional sense. It’s an authentic experience in a real Roman home in Trastevere, where you cook together, share stories, drink wine, and sit around the table just like locals do. No professional kitchen — just a family home, real food, and genuine connection.
If you truly want to understand what Italian cooking feels like, there’s no better place than a family kitchen. Born and raised in Rome, Ilaria comes from three generations of chefs and loves sharing not only recipes, but also the memories, traditions, and everyday rituals behind them.
oks, couples, solo travelers, and families with children. With a small group of no more than 6/8 guests, there’s plenty of time to cook, chat, ask questions, and enjoy each moment at a relaxed and unhurried pace. Together, you’ll make fresh pasta from scratch, shaping three classic types : Fettuccine, Ravioli, and Orecchiette. You’ll then prepare three traditional sauces — cacio e pepe, fresh tomato sauce with basil, and Norma sauce — using seasonal ingredients and time-honored technique. Than you’ll prepare Tiramisu following Ilaria’s family recipe : simple, authentic, and deeply satisfying. Along the way, you’ll enjoy appetizers, wine, and plenty of conversation. Once everything is ready, you’ll sit down together to share the meal — often the most memorable part of the experience, when cooking naturally turns into connectio. You’ll leave with practical cooking skills, recipes that truly work at home, and above all, the memory of time spent in a Roman kitchen where strangers become guests, and guests leave feeling like friends.
