Begin with a picturesque drive along the shores of Chile's second-largest lake, with sweeping views of Osorno Volcano rising above the water. Pass through green farmland and small German-colonial villages on the way toward the national park.

Ascend the slopes of this perfectly conical stratovolcano and choose your activity: Trek to the Red Crater (Cráter Rojo): A moderate hike of approximately 5 km round trip, about 1.5 hours Chairlift (optional, approx. USD 20, paid on site): A relaxed ascent with stunning aerial views, no physical effort required Snow play (June–August only): Walk on the glacier, throw snowballs, or build a snowman on the volcanic ice field

Visit the shores of this jewel-like emerald lake inside the national park. Stroll along the waterfront and take in the volcanic peaks reflected in the glassy water. Optional boat excursion available on site at additional cost.

Walk the path to the falls and watch the turquoise Petrohué River force its way through centuries-old basalt lava formations. One of the most photogenic natural sites in Chile — perfect for photography.

Optional: Swimming in the Natural Pools of the Petrohué River For those who want a more immersive experience, the Petrohué River offers calm natural pools ideal for a refreshing swim in crystal-clear glacial water. This option is available in the warmer months and is subject to conditions on the day. Participants must be able to swim.

Stop at Onces Bellavista Café (Only weekends!) On the return route, stop at the beloved Onces Bellavista café (Ruta 225, km 34.5) — a local institution rated among the top coffee and tea venues in the region. Enjoy a traditional Chilean "once" (afternoon tea) with homemade cakes, kuchens, artisanal jams, and fresh bread, while llamas graze freely on the surrounding grounds. Available on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Additional cost, paid on site.
