What to expect

Lyon Old Town: escape the Nazi city exploration game

This self-guided city game turns Lyon's Old Town into your playing field as you follow stories of World War II and resistance. You move at your own pace through Renaissance streets, using the app to guide you through puzzles, choices, and locations linked to Nazi escape routes.

Features

• Renaissance monuments feature throughout the route, so you walk between historic facades and squares while the app connects their architecture and streets to the wartime narrative. The focus stays on what you see around you, not on a guide, since a physical tour guide is not included.

• Traboules and hidden courtyards are core locations in the story, and the app sends you through these secret passageways that were used to escape from the Nazis.

• Statues and fountains appear as visual checkpoints, and you are prompted to stop and admire these artworks while solving clues tied to them. These statues and fountains help anchor the story in real corners of Lyon, turning each stop into part of the game.

• An approximate 2-hour city game structure keeps the experience focused, yet there is no time limit, so you can pause and resume anytime. Full flexibility lets you start at any hour, take breaks whenever you like, and continue later, with 24/7 daily availability.

• The format is a self-guided city game via app, so you will not need a guide and can rely entirely on your phone and mobile internet connection. The city game is free for kids, which makes it easier for families to explore together.
