Immerse yourself in Chiang Mai’s Lanna traditions, enjoy a Thai feast, and release glowing sky lanterns into the night during a spectacular cultural festival.

Getting started

Meet at Go Wholesale Chiang Mai @ Central Airport Plaza at 2:00 PM and board the shuttle to Nong Sariam. The journey takes around an hour, giving you time to settle in before arriving at the festival grounds at approximately 3:00 PM. After registration, collect your souvenir bag and begin exploring the venue.

What to expect

• Your afternoon starts with a lively introduction to Lanna culture and local traditions. The festival grounds come alive with hands-on activities, traditional entertainment, and community celebrations.

• Try your hand at krathong making, candle lighting, and Thai flag crafting while taking in cultural performances, boat parades, and canoe shows.

• The local community market offers a chance to explore regional crafts, food, and festive atmosphere before dinner. At around 5:00 PM, settle in for a buffet featuring authentic Thai and Northern Thai specialties, with food and beverages available throughout the festival.

• As evening approaches, collect your Loy Krathong and sky lanterns. Standard ticket holders receive 3 sky lanterns, while VIP guests receive 5 and enjoy access to an exclusive dining area and reserved seating for the evening’s performances and lantern release.

• At around 7:30 PM, join the much-anticipated mass sky lantern release. Cultural ceremonies, parades, wishing rituals, and a fireworks display accompany the moment as thousands of glowing lanterns illuminate the Chiang Mai night sky.

The evening concludes around 9:00 PM, when you board the return shuttle to the designated drop-off point, bringing an immersive evening of Lanna culture, lantern traditions, Thai cuisine, and festive entertainment to a close.
