Get to know the first city founded in Veracruz, La Antigua, where the house of the conqueror Hernán Cortés is located and where we will take a tour to see its interior. After visiting this site, we will visit the archaeological zone of Cempoala, a Totonac city 1 hour from Veracruz that you will undoubtedly love. Finally, we will visit Quiahuiztlan, a cemetery of the Totonac culture, unique in the State.
Located on the slopes of a volcanic stone hill on the Gulf coast of the state of Veracruz. You will also be able to observe that there are remains of pyramids and a ball game from where you can see a splendid panoramic view of the beaches of Villa Rica in the Gulf of Mexico and the La Mancha lagoon.
The buildings of that site have an architectural beauty that is worth admiring, such as the Temple of the Sun or Great Pyramid, which resembles the temple of the sun in Tenochtitlán; and Las Caritas, whose name comes from the hundreds of stucco skulls that adorned a small structure at the base of the temple's stairs.
Here you can visit the Casa del Cabildo and the Ermita del Rosario, built in 1523, the house of Hernán Cortés and the ceiba de las argollas where it is said that the Spanish moored their ships.
