Full Day Private Excursion to Lothal & Uthellya from Ahmedabad

The drive to Lothal takes about an hour and a half. In Lothal, explore the ruins of this once prosperous city that was famous for its beads, gems and jewellery. The remains of a well designed township complete with an underground drainage system and a marketplace can still be seen. Also visit the dockyard that stands in silent testimony to the maritime links of this ancient civilization. You will see the widespread use of kiln-burnt bricks, another important milestone that was reached here. Back in 2400 BC, the people of Lothal and other Indus Valley sites were pioneering Astronomers and expert metallurgists as well. They were masters in town planning with elaborate underground drainage systems. In the company of an expert, we will explore this fascinating ancient civilization with its mysterious script which remains undeciphered.

After lunch drive to the nearby site of Uthellya and walk through the ruins of this ancient town that were excavated in 1920.
