From Queenstown: Extended 2.5-Hour Milford Sound Helicopter Tour

Your experience

Soar above Fiordland on an extended helicopter flight that lets you land in Milford Sound, on a glacier, and even along the wild West Coast.

Getting started

Your adventure begins in Queenstown, where friendly staff greet you at the heliport and your pilot runs through a clear safety briefing. Step aboard a modern Airbus helicopter with guaranteed window seating, and feel the lift as Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables shrink below. Almost immediately, you’ll sense the scale of what’s ahead—towering peaks, deep valleys, and fjords unfolding toward the horizon.

What to expect

This isn’t just a flyover; it’s a three-part journey through some of New Zealand’s most dramatic landscapes. First, descend into Milford Sound and step out beneath sheer cliffs for photos and a short guided walk. Then touch down on a remote glacier or alpine ridge, crunching across ancient ice with sweeping views in every direction. Finally, trace the rugged West Coast beaches from above, spotting waterfalls that tumble straight into the sea. Throughout, your pilot shares local knowledge while ensuring comfort and safety. Weather can change quickly here, but flights are scheduled with flexibility so you only fly when conditions are clear.
