Getting started

Your safari begins with round-trip transfers from Nairobi, including convenient pickup from your hotel. Travel towards Masai Mara in a 4x4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, with your KPSGA Silver- or Gold-certified driver-guide leading the journey. Along the way, stop at a Great Rift Valley viewpoint for views across the dramatic landscape before continuing towards the reserve.

What to expect

Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara National Reserve is your main safari destination, covering 1,510 sq km of open savannah and wildlife-rich plains. Across five game drives, including two full days dedicated to exploring the reserve, you'll have multiple opportunities to spot lions, elephants, and other plains wildlife.

• Travel through the reserve in a 4x4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, giving you an open view of the surrounding landscape and wildlife.

• Look out for the Big Five and other animals across the savannah, with your KPSGA Silver- or Gold-certified driver-guide helping you track sightings and navigate the reserve.

• Your safari takes place during the Great Migration season from July to October, when migrating wildebeest and other wildlife move through the Mara ecosystem. Sightings and crossings are never guaranteed.

• Park fees, drinking water, and meals are covered as specified in your itinerary, with dietary preferences catered for.

Mara River

Visit the Mara River, which forms part of the border between Kenya's Masai Mara and Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. The river and surrounding area are important wildlife habitats and offer another setting for spotting animals during your safari.

• Watch for wildlife around the river and its surrounding plains as your guide helps you look for activity along the water.

• Add a Maasai village visit after booking for an additional fee if you want to include a cultural experience alongside your safari.

Accommodation and safari style

You'll stay for three nights in a budget, comfort, or luxury property, depending on the option you select. Your accommodation, meals, and drinking water are included according to your chosen itinerary.
