Spend a full day exploring Kenya's South Coast by water, from the clear waters of Diani Beach to the mangrove-lined Kongo River. Snorkel around Robinson Island, relax on its sandbank, enjoy lunch by the beach at Soul Breeze, then finish the day with a peaceful sunset cruise through the Kongo River estuary.

Getting started

Your day begins with hotel pickup from Mombasa or Diani at a time adjusted according to the tides. Travel to Soul Breeze Hotel, where you'll receive a safety briefing before boarding the glass-bottom boat for your morning excursion.

What to expect

• Glass-bottom boat ride: Board a glass-bottom boat at Soul Breeze Hotel and cruise across the turquoise waters of Diani Beach. Look through the boat as you travel towards Robinson Island and take in the coastal scenery.

• Robinson Island: Arrive at Robinson Island for a snorkeling session around the island's coral reefs. Snorkeling equipment and charges are included. Afterward, enjoy free time to swim, relax on the sandbank and take photos.

• Lunch at Soul Breeze: Return to the mainland around midday and enjoy lunch at Soul Breeze Resort. After your meal, spend some time relaxing by the beach and taking in the ocean views.

• Congo Beach: Later in the afternoon, travel to Congo Beach before continuing to the Kongo River for the final part of your day.

• Kongo River cruise: Board a canoe or boat and cruise along the Kongo River through its mangrove surroundings. Look out for local birdlife while enjoying the quieter side of the South Coast.

• Sunset over the estuary: As the day winds down, watch the sunset over the Kongo River estuary and take photos of the changing coastal landscape.

• Return transfer: Begin your journey back to your hotel at around 7:00 PM, with drop-off in Diani or Mombasa expected at approximately 8:30 PM.
