We will guide you through a journey that will immerse you in history, showing you the process of artisan wine production, some curiosities and anecdotes. During the unique visit to this traditional winery of the 16th century you will taste 2 wines, a young man and an ageing of grape variety "rufete" accompanied by Iberian sausages of acorn, village bread and olives according to season. At the end of the visit we will reveal a secret that has remained hidden for five centuries. You will also have the opportunity to purchase wines and other local organic products in the winery. The Medieval Winery is a true pearl of San Martin del Castañar, and remains hidden in the heart of the Sierra de Béjar and France Biosphere Reserve and at the gates of the Natural Park of the Batuecas and Sierra de France.
It is best to leave the car at the entrance of the village in the free parking lots, as access to the town centre is restricted. In 5 minutes on foot you will reach the town hall square; on the way to the church, the medieval cellar is halfway down an alley on the right.
