What makes this activity special
At Casa San Miguel, participants not only watch a cooking demonstration, but become part of the experience. Guided by local chef David Farfán, travelers prepare authentic Guatemalan dishes using traditional techniques handed down from generation to generation. Small groups guarantee personalized attention, hands-on learning and a warm, familiar and welcoming atmosphere.
Participants also enjoy Guatemalan coffee, local drinks and printed take-home recipes.
The optional market tour adds an immersive cultural touch, connecting travelers directly to local ingredients and traditions.
We will start with a welcome at Casa San Miguel and a brief introduction on the local ingredients and gastronomic culture of the country. Then, from our expert chef in traditional Guatemalan cuisine, you will learn to prepare typical dishes using fresh ingredients from the region. The menu includes Pepian or Jocon, rice soup, and tortillas or toast with guacamole. In the end, you will enjoy the tasting of what you cooked, accompanied by local drinks, while sharing stories and traditions of Guatemalan culture.
We will meet at Café Condesa, Parque Central, Antigua Guatemala. If you prefer another point within the center of Antigua, we can easily coordinate it after your reservation. We will send you confirmation with the exact place and a contact number to facilitate communication on the day of the experience.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
