Chauchilla Tour and Nasca Lines by Land

Located about 30 km south of the city of Nazca; you will find open tombs in adobe and stone wall pits, with mummified bodies in the fetal position, surrounded by ceramic fragments, textile remains and other funerary objects, some mummies still show strands of hair. On the tour there is a small local museum (which exhibits recovered pieces, explains the nazca funeral rituals and provides historical context.

Visitors will be warmly welcomed by the artisan family, who share stories and tradition giving you detailed explanations about Nazca designs, their meanings, colors and ancient methods applied.

From the Mirador de las Lineas de Nazca, a strategic high point, you can glimpse some of the enigmatic geoglyphs. Although not as complete as from the air, figures such as the Tree, Hands and Lizard are revealed, offering a unique and tangible perspective on this millennial mystery.
