Canyoning & Gorge Scrambling - Coniston, Lake District

d, and take a full safety briefing before heading into Church Beck - one of the finest ghylls in England, sitting right below the Old Man of Coniston. From there you work your way up and through the gorge. You will climb waterfalls, wade and swim through deep pools, scramble over boulders and slide natural rock chutes worn smooth by the water. Where the canyon drops away, you abseil. Your guide reads the group and picks the line to suit you - every jump, slide and obstacle is entirely optional, and there is always an easier way round. This is a genuinely wet adventure and that is the whole point. Expect to be in the water, expect to laugh a lot, and expect to come out feeling like you have done something real. Afterwards, head back to base to change and warm up. We will send you photographs of your session afterwards, free of charge. Suitable for anyone reasonably fit and comfortable in water, aged 10 and over. Families, friends, couples and groups all welcome.
