Getting started

Begin by entering Cálem Lodge and heading to the check-in area to confirm your selected session. After validation, you start with access to the interactive museum, where you can move at your own pace. Once your self-guided visit is complete, you join the group at the designated time to continue into the port cellars for the guided part of the experience.

The experience starts in the interactive museum, where you learn about Cálem Port and the Douro traditions through displays and digital elements.

Features

• A self-guided tour in the interactive museum lets you explore the exhibits independently, using the information on-site to understand how Port is produced and aged.

• As part of your ticket, the self-guided tour in the interactive museum is included before you proceed to the tasting and cellar visit segments of your chosen session.

Cálem Lodge port cellars and tasting rooms

After the museum, you move into the working port cellars and tasting rooms to experience Cálem Port where it is stored and served.

Features

• A guided tour in the port cellars is included, with an expert English-speaking guide for the Chocolate Pairing with 3 Port Tastings Session, English-Guided Cellar Tour option, explaining the barrel-lined spaces and production process.

• A tasting of 3 Port wines is part of every booking, with juice served to children under 18, while no chocolate or wine is served to children and youth under 18 years of age.

• If you choose the Chocolate Pairing with 3 Port Tastings Session, you enjoy chocolate pairing with 3 Port tastings that feature White & Dry, 10 Years Old Tawny and Colheita alongside Margarida milk and dark chocolate, dark chocolate with raisins and a dark chocolate tartlet.

• If you select the Exclusive 3 Port Wine Premium Tastings Session, 3 premium Cálem Port tastings are included, with Cálem Fine White, Cálem LBV and Cálem 20 years Tawny served in a focused premium session.

Wrapping up

Transportation and transfers are not included, so after your tasting session ends you are free to leave Cálem Lodge at your own pace and continue exploring the area independently.
