5-Day Danakil Depression and Erta Ale Volcano Tour

Depart from Addis Ababa in the morning and travel to Semera, the gateway to the Danakil region. Continue to Hamedela, passing through arid landscapes and traditional Afar villages. After breakfast, explore the colorful geothermal landscapes of Dallol, one of the lowest and hottest places on Earth. Visit the salt flats of Lake Assale and observe traditional salt mining activities carried out by the Afar people. In the afternoon, drive to Erta Ale base camp. Travel to the foot of Erta Ale Volcano and begin the trek with local guides and camels carrying supplies. Reach the crater rim to witness the spectacular active lava lake and enjoy panoramic views of the volcanic landscape. Return to camp for the night.
