We continue to fly to Lalibela, the "Jerusalem of Ethiopia", which was not unfairly declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Upon arrival you will visit the site of some of Ethiopia’s most famous rock-hewn churches, often referred to by many as one of “the living wonders of the world”. These churches are, and they have been for at least 800 years, an active Christian shrine — the spiritual center of the country’s religious life. The monolithic churches were carved out of a 2,600-square-meter natural rock terrace in the 12th century AD by King Lalibela

Today, you will explore the rest of the churches and marvel at the churches of Lalibela. Enjoy the Life of Lalibela and the view over the Lasta Mountains and valleys around Lalibela.

Today you will fly back to Addis Ababa and up on arrival you will explore Addis Ababa, by visiting the National Museum (home of the remains of the famous hominid fossil, “Lucy”), Entoto Mountain and the largest open-air market called Merkato and one of the big Orthodox Churches.
