It is the most spectacular canyon in Europe, as well as one of the deepest. Gorropu is a gorge of erosive origin, one and a half kilometers long, which marks the border between the Barbarian territory of Orgosolo and that of Ogliastra Urzulei. It has been shaped over time by the strength of the Flumineddu stream that flows on the bottom, fed by waters that cross the Supramonte, partly infiltrating underground tunnels, partly re-emerging from sources downstream of the gorge.
