7. Hemelvaart van VOLCAN Grand Pico naar FOGO
Deze excursie is ideaal voor avonturiers en bergliefhebbers. Veel mensen reizen naar Kaapverdië en komen speciaal naar het eiland Fogo om de majestueuze vulkaan "Pico de Fogo" te beklimmen. Met deze beklimming bereikt u... het hoogste punt van Kaapverdië! Deze prachtige vulkaan die nog steeds actief is, stijgt tot 2829 meter boven de zeespiegel. De moeilijkheidsgraad van deze klim is moeilijk. Je moet een goede fysieke conditie hebben. Je wordt begeleid door een ervaren lokale berggids. Qua sensaties kan de klim voor sommigen een uitdaging zijn. Maar houd er rekening mee dat er een grote beloning op je wacht aan de top: totale rust en een spectaculair panoramisch uitzicht. De afdaling van de vulkaan op de vulkanische as is zeer aangenaam en gemoedelijk. Deze excursie zorgt voor enthousiasme en sterke emoties. Je zal houden van! 6. Wandeling naar de krater van Little Pico 2014, op de vulkaan van FOGO
Deze wandeling, in de krater van Chã das Caldeiras, laat je klimmen naar de kleine krater gevormd door de vulkaanuitbarsting van 2014. Het is de jongste krater van het eiland: de kleine Pico. In dit maanlandschap weet hier en daar vegetatie (endemische planten en wijnstokken) te groeien. Wat een contrastrijk kleurrijk landschap! Een ander treuriger visioen is de observatie van de vernietiging veroorzaakt door de lavastromen die door deze kleine krater zijn afgestoten. De inwoners van het dorp tonen moed en zijn terug nadat ze hun begraven huizen hebben verlaten. Op de een of andere manier bouwen ze hun leven weer op naast de vulkaan, waarvoor ze veel respect hebben. Deze wandeling biedt een feest van de zintuigen. Visueel, olfactorisch (geur van zwavel), een bijna stilte die wordt aangeraakt door de adem van de wind. En tot slot dit contact met deze bodem van rotsen en lava: alles is aanwezig om een opwindende "vulkanische" ervaring te beleven. BELANGRIJK: Minimum aantal deelnemers: 2 personen
