The tour is lead by local climbers while all been ICAN Via Ferrata Guide Level 2 or with similar qualifications and more than 15+ years of experience. It's not about just doing the via ferrata; it is about learning also a lot of things about Crete, local life and making new friends!
Not to be missed! Nearly all the times we are able to watch many vultures (Griffon vulture). There is about 40 minutes walk total (to get into the ferrata and back) and around 2-4 hours to complete the via ferrata *. The road trip to get there is also very beautiful. * The essence of a modern via ferrata is a steel cable which runs along the route and is periodically (every 1 to 10 metres (3.3 to 32.8 ft)) fixed to the rock. Using a via ferrata kit, climbers can secure themselves to the cable, limiting any fall. The cable can also be used as aid to climbing, and additional climbing aids, such as iron rungs (stemples), pegs, carved steps are often provided. Thus via ferratas allow otherwise dangerous routes to be undertaken without the risks associated with unprotected scrambling and climbing or the need for climbing equipment such as ropes.
Next to the Envy coffee bar there is a big parking lot. This is the meeting point if you need transfer. In case you will travel with your car we will have to meet in an alternative location near Kapetaniana village. The exact meeting point will be send over email.
