Rome in a Day Shore Excursion
Is your cruise ship docking in Rome? If the answer is yes, don't miss the opportunity of spending one day in the Eternal City! The driver will pick you up at the port of Civitavecchia and drive you to the heart of ancient Rome (it will take approximately one hour and 10 minutes). We'll visit the Colosseum and then, we'll go back to our car to explore the most charming squares of the Baroque city: Piazza Navona, Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. After a break for lunch, we'll continue with the Vatican: we'll tour the museums and admire Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel. After the tour the driver will drive you back to the port. Pick up at the pier at 8:00 AM will be right in front of the Boat exit door. There will be your driver with your last name printed on a paper-sheet sign. It will take approx. 80 minutes to get to Rome. Once in Rome you will arrive at the Circus Maximus, the large ancient stadium for chariot races. Behind the stadium you will see the Palatine Hill where the villas and the domus of the emperors were built. At this point you will be able to see the Arch of Constantine and the Colosseum. We will stop here, and you will be able to visit the Colosseum on your own.
