The guided tour of Monte Sant’Angelo will mainly focus on the historic center, the castle, and the Sanctuary of Saint Michael the Archangel, which in 2011 became a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Longobard routes in Puglia. The tour begins with an external visit of the castle, originally a Byzantine fortress built before the year 1000, later flanked by a tower, the so-called Tower of the Giants, characterized by a height of 18 meters and walls 3 meters thick, and expanded by the Normans, Swabians, and Aragonese. After the castle, you will reach the exterior of the Sanctuary of Saint Michael, where you will admire the imposing octagonal tower built by Charles I of Anjou, modeled after Castel del Monte. At the main altar, you can admire the statue of St.Michael the Archangel, made of Carrara marble. Spectacular is the cave, where St.Michael the Archangel has been venerated since the 5th century. The tour ends with a visit to the museum and the lapidarium inside the basilica

Castel di Salve is one of Puglia's historic wineries, founded in 1885 in Depressa by Antonio Winspeare, Duke of Salve with the goal of producting quality table wines. Now the winery is runed by the 4th and 5th generation of the Winspeare family. Strong and proud of the ancestors tradition, we still continue to work the same land today, to produce wines of character that are clean and elegant at the same time. The bulk of our agricultural work takes place in the historic family estate "Masseria Bosco Belvedere", located in the geographical center of the lower Salento. The focus is on the native grapes of Salento like Verdeca, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera di Lecce and Primitivo. Furthermore we also cultivate another small vineyard in Depressa and other sites in the lower Salento, for a total of about 31 hectares of vineyards.

Next to the basilica you can see the spectacular 3D reconstruction of the ancient early Christian basilica by Edoardo Tresoldi. 14 meters of braided metal for 7 tons of weight reproduce in a 1/1 scale the early Christian basilica that flanks the splendid medieval Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. The project changes the landscape of the entire archaeological site and stems from the will of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities to provide coverage to the mosaic still present on the pre-existing basilica. Built between the eleventh and twelfth centuries, the ancient cathedral of Siponto is one of the most significant monuments of the Apulian Romanesque: with a square plan, it also has a beautiful crypt, as wide as the church.
