Silliman University is a private university in Dumaguete, Philippines. Established in 1901 as Silliman Institute by the Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions, it is the first American and Protestant founded institution of higher learning in the Philippines and in Asia.

Collections of ethnographic & archaeological artifacts on display in a bright 1909 wood building. It is Silliman's mission to develop the whole person within the Christian context and in a conducive environment. More popularly known as the Dumaguete Cathedral, St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral Parish is said to be the oldest stone church in all of Negros. The parish dates back to 1620, but its first stone church was constructed from 1754 to 1756 with Fr. Jose Fernandez de Septien at the helm.

Named after the prominent Benigno Aquino Jr., Ninoy Aquino Memorial Freedom Park in Dumaguete serves as a good destination to relax, unwind, and take a break from extreme activities. The freedom park was built in honor of Ninoy Aquino, the late senator who was assassinated at the Manila International Airport upon arriving in the Philippines.

Oriental, the Sidlakang Negros Village in Dumaguete welcomes visitors with the best souvenir products on the islands. It was born to attract the 25 local government units of the province to protect the cultural heritage and wealth of Negros Oriental.

Built between 1587 and 1606, it is the oldest church in the Philippines. The massive facade conceals an ornate interior filled with objects of great historical and cultural merit.
