Flagstaff’s original ghost tour since 2015. 1,000+ five-star reviews. Voted Best of Flagstaff 23, 24, 25. There’s a reason people keep coming back & a reason certain guests say ghosts followed them home. You’ll hear about the phantom bellboy at the Monte Vista Hotel, how John Weatherford came to Flagstaff to build his fortune, and the dark history of Wheeler Park that most Flagstaff residents don’t know. And then there’s the Marie Walkup case. We won’t spoil it here, but it’s the story that made Susan write a whole book. You'll also learn why Flagstaff's historic steam tunnels were sealed shut, and why no one's been truly underground since. We’re locally owned and operated by the people who wrote the books on this town’s dark side. Co-founder Susan Johnson is the author of Wicked Flagstaff, Haunted Flagstaff, and The Walkup Family Murders. Your attendance is gravely appreciated.

Common questions about booking Flagstaff experiences through SimilarTours
Grand Canyon overnight backpacking trips can be booked on short notice, which is rare for backcountry trips anywhere. Most other experiences - private hikes, Antelope Canyon tours, and SUV excursions to Sedona - tend to fill up weeks ahead during peak season, so booking 2-3 weeks out is smart if you're flexible, but check availability for your specific dates.
Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) offer pleasant hiking weather and fewer crowds than summer. Winter brings snow, which shuts down some high-elevation trails but creates stunning landscapes for photography and smaller tour groups.
Most tours include pickup from Flagstaff or nearby towns like Williams, so you don't need your own wheels for the main experiences. If you want to explore downtown Flagstaff itself or grab lunch between tours, a rental car or rideshare helps, but it's not essential.
Yes - private guides know where light hits the rocks best for photography, understand the geology, and can stop whenever you want instead of sticking to a group schedule. If you're splitting costs with others, they're often cheaper than you'd expect.
Hotel pickup, transportation, and a guide are standard across most tours. Some include meals or snacks; others don't - check before you go. Permits for Antelope Canyon or other protected areas are typically built in, but always confirm what's covered.

Flagstaff sits at 7,000 feet in the ponderosa pines, making it the perfect base for exploring Arizona's red rock country. Most visitors here book private Grand Canyon hikes and full-day tours, along with sunset trips to Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. You'll find everything from backcountry backpacking with short-notice availability to luxury SUV tours with local guides, plus photography sessions in the forest and fishing on Oak Creek. The historic Grand Experience railroad still runs from town, and if you want to venture further, Page's slot canyons and 4x4 adventures are just two hours north.
