Common questions about booking Antigua experiences through SimilarTours
The dry season runs December through April - perfect sailing weather and low humidity. May through November is the rainy season with afternoon showers, but prices drop and crowds thin out. Hurricane season peaks August through October, so check before you go if you're booking then.
Popular sunset sailing charters and private yacht experiences book up quickly during peak season (December-March). Aim for 2-4 weeks ahead if you're visiting then. Outside peak season, a week or two usually works fine.
Many visitors skip the rental and book private transfers from the airport instead - no negotiating with taxis, driver knows the island. If you're doing a private shore tour, the guide handles navigation. A car only makes sense if you want total freedom for multiple days of self-exploring.
Absolutely. With just a few hours in port, a private tour gets you straight to what matters - historical sites, scenic drives, or beach time - without waiting for group tours. Guides also know which spots avoid cruise crowds and how to time things so you're back before all-aboard.
Most include the boat, captain, and crew. Some feature drinks and snacks; others may charge extra for beverages or meals. Check before you go on what's provided - sunset charters especially vary.
Yes - sailing charters double as celebration vessels for anniversaries, proposals, and other milestones. Specialized options like the pretend wedding experience exist too. Work with your provider upfront to build what you want into the itinerary.
Private transfers and some yacht charters work well for families since you skip long waits and group hassles. Beach access and water activities depend on your mobility level - chat directly with tour operators to confirm what works for your situation before booking.
