2021 saw the creation of a new volcanic crater near La Palma. The volcano previously known as Cumbre Vieja erupted, completely changing the landscape west of the city. Hiking 6.5km on the newly christened Tajogaite – cracked mountain – you'll almost reach the crater. From here, awesome views of the lava flows and the Aridane Valley open up.

This is a guided 6.5km round trip hike to a newly formed volcanic landscape
The activity is all about safety first, so you'll keep a safe distance from the volcano at all times
You'll see the 2021 crater and lava flows up close and hear about the eruption from your guide
