Houbi Station was established in 1901 and features a well-preserved wooden station building from the Japanese colonial era, renovated in 1943 after the 1941 Chiayi–Tainan Earthquake. Surrounded by the rice fields of the Chianan Plain, the nearby Jingliao Old Street—featured in the documentary Let It Be—reflects the charm and resilience of rural Taiwan.
Dalin Station is Taiwan’s first green building railway station, designed with natural ventilation and no air-conditioning to promote energy efficiency. As the gateway to Dalin—a member of the Cittaslow International—the station blends eco-friendly design with the relaxed atmosphere of a small town, welcoming travelers to experience the slow-living lifestyle of Dalin.
Shetou Station was established in 1907 with the opening of Taiwan’s West Coast Railway Line and once played an important role in passenger travel and agricultural transport in southern Changhua County. The name “Shetou” comes from early Pingpu peoples settlements—“She” meaning village and “Tou” referring to the front or starting point of the community.
Ershui Station opened in 1905 and became a key hub where the Jiji Line branches off, serving passengers and agricultural transport between the plains and mountains. The name “Ershui” (“Two Waters”) reflects its location near abundant waterways and the area’s agricultural roots.
