Australia’s Everglades are found in the Northern end of the Noosa River system, perched within the sand dunes of the Cooloola National Park. An untouched, pristine wilderness area which is home to over 44% of Australia’s bird species.

Pure fresh water pulses out of the Cooloola Sandmass and filters through the tea tree infused ecosystem into this unique river system – creating the most spectacular reflections you will ever see….

Choose to experience the Everglades in the comfort of our specially designed eco boats (OR) Cruise to our canoe launch area – grab a paddle, jump in a canoe and experience one of the best canoeing adventures in Australia (5km canoe leg to Harry’s hut – moderate fitness level required).

Your Explorer tour begins with a cruise across stunning Lake Cootharaba where we enter the Australia's only Everglades
Stopping at Fig Tree point you have the option to participate in a 600m rainforest walk or board your Canadian style canoe for a leisurely paddle upstream through ancient landscapes, mirrored waterways know as "The River of Mirrors". Guides provide expert commentary on the flora & fauna and rich history of the area. Witness sub-tropical rainforest thousands of years old and the surrounding serenity of the Cooloola National Park. A light refreshment is served during the tour. The Everglades, recognised as one of the most spectacular waterways in Australia is home to variety of diverse animal species. Upon returning to Habitat Noosa you have spare time with the option of tasting a craft beer at the Micro-brewery, trying a dish from the onsite bistro (own cost) or explore the Lake and surrounding bushland of the EcoCamp.
