You will visit the historic centre of one of the most beautiful coastal cities of the Peloponnese: Kalamata!
The place is known for its exquisite olive oil and its world-famous black Kalamata olives. However, the city has so much more to offer and this experience will help you uncover its hidden gems. You’ll set off on your gastronomic experience with a leisurely stroll around the streets of this magnificent coastal city. Visit local family-owned food shops and a workshop, learn old stories and feel the authenticity of the locals. We will make 6 food stops in local stores, taste mouthwatering treats, food and drinks and we will conclude our amazing Food tour with a delicious light lunch in a Greek ouzo tavern. Maria, our passionate food lover and local host, will be waiting for you at the beautiful Central Square of Kalamata, Vasileos Georgiou Square, in front of the Hondos Center store. The 3 wonderful Statues (Ανδριάντας Πετρόμπεη Μαυρομιχάλη) of the Messinian War Heroes of 1821 are in front of you.

The traditional workshop in Part 2 is open only in the mornings and closed in the afternoons. Therefore, when the Food tour takes place in the afternoons, either we visit another available workshop or the two local products are given at the end of the experience and the tour starts with the visit in the local shop in Part 3.
Availability: The food tour experience is available in the mornings from Monday to Saturday, excluding Sundays, Holy Friday – Easter Tuesday and Greek official holidays.
