Discovering the Medieval Walled Town of Conwy: A Self-Guided Audio Tour

The tour starts outside the Conwy Tourist Information Centre. You'll be introduced to the tour and the area. You'll also hear about how VoiceMap works before getting started.

You'll see the castle from outside. You'll also hear the two reasons the castle is a UNESCO Heritage Site. Please note, the tour does not go into the castle or include entry to the castle.

The tour passes by Conwy Town Wall. You'll hear about the walls and how they were used for defense purposes while you walk.

While you pass by the ice cream parlour, you'll briefly hear about how Italians migrated to the area in the 1800s.

The tour passes by Aberconwy House. You'll hear about the house which is the oldest in Conwy, after the castle and church, while you walk.

You'll see the house and hear about it including how it came to be and a former six-foot resident while you walk.

The tour goes over Conwy Suspension Bridge. You'll learn about the bridge and its architect while you walk. You'll also be shown various interesting viewpoints from the bridge.

You'll hear about the garden, how it came to be and who is allowed to eat from the garden before the tour ends.
